Mark Cohen, MD, is a trained neurologist who brings knowledge, experience and the latest trends and techniques to the Neuro Injury Specialists team. A Brain Injury Specialist, he’s double board certified in Neurology and Pain Medicine from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He speaks English and Russian fluently, and he has basic Spanish proficiency.
After earning his undergraduate degree at the City University of New York in Queens, he graduated from Saba University School of Medicine in Saba, Netherland Antilles, with his Doctor of Medicine (NMD). He did his residency in Neurology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.
Affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital where he works as a neurologist, Dr. Cohen has worked as a consulting neurologist and interventional pain physician in Tampa, FL and NYC. He’s also a volunteer ringside physician, where he keeps boxers safe and healthy. He specializes in:
Certified by the Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS), Dr. Leon Reyfman is proud of his accomplishments helping his patients out of pain. He’s board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Management by the American Board of Anesthesiology. In addition to his practice at Neuro Injury Specialists, he also serves as the attending physician of Interventional Pain Medicine at Mount Sinai Brooklyn Hospital and the SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
Dr. Reyfman earned two bachelor’s degrees, in Biochemistry and Pharmacy in New York before studying homeopathy and nutrition at the British Institute of Homeopathy. After graduating with his MD degree from Ross University School of Medicine, he interned at the Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn. He spent his residency at the Department of Anesthesiology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center and then completed a fellowship at the Columbia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Anthonette Sparman is the latest addition to the team of experts at Neuro Injury Specialists. Known for her kindness, compassion, and attention to detail, she brings a wealth of experience, focusing on innovative treatments for pain management and neurological care. As a board-certified neurologist and clinical neurophysiologist, Dr. Sparman is skilled in advanced diagnostics and treatments, including electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG), nerve conduction studies, Botox for migraines, and trigger point injections for back pain.
Dr. Sparman's educational path includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College, a residency at the University Hospital of Brooklyn, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at NYU School of Medicine, where she specialized in advanced neurological testing. This background has prepared her to address complex neurological conditions effectively.
Before joining Neuro Injury Specialists, Dr. Sparman served as the head neurologist at Total NeuroCare, overseeing diagnostics and managing care for patients with traumatic brain injuries and related conditions. Her affiliation with Maimonides Medical Center further expands her influence, where she manages stroke and epilepsy cases and responds to neurological emergencies.
